Rooted Series

We believe that life transformation begins and occurs in the context of relationship, with Jesus and others. Through Rooted, you will begin to see God and God’s plan for your life in new ways. Whether you’ve been a Christian for a long time or are new to faith in Christ, Rooted will grow your relationship with God while building community at the Harrisburg Brethren in Christ Church.

Rooted is beyond a program, a series of classes, or small group; it is catalyst for life change. Rooted provokes questions and conversations, and offers group experiences designed to give you a glimpse of your purpose in God’s story. It consists of four classes, taken in the order and time most helpful to you:

Explore the heart, history, vision, and ministries of HBIC, and find out what opportunities for discipleship and community exist at HBIC for you. Session 1 will take place on the 1st Sunday at 9 am in the Library on the following months: January, March, May, and July, September and November.

Explore where you are spiritually, discover your strengths and weaknesses, and investigate what your spiritual gifts are with a goal of deepening your walk with God and ministry at this church. Session 2 will take place on the 2nd Sunday at 9 am in the Library on the following months: January, March, May, and July, September and November.

Jesus’ prayer in John 17:21 is that His followers would have the same unity of relationship that He had with God the Father, that they would have a deep and abiding relationship with God and each other, and these relationships would serve as a compelling message and invitation to the world. This class is an opportunity to explore the nature of multicultural relationships and what it takes to achieve the quality of relationship that Jesus speaks of in John 17:21. Session 3 will take place on the 3rd Sunday at 9 am in the Library on the following months: January, March, May, and July, September and November.

Explore the opportunities available at HBIC to live out your purpose, use your gifts to serve others, and join God in building His Kingdom through work He has begun or is inviting us to begin. Session 4 will take place on the 4th Sunday at 9 am in the Library on the following months: January, March, May, and July, September and November.

Attend one or all classes over the course of a month, or plan to take each class (in order) at your convenience over the course of a year.
